Why I Created OJAS
“Is this burnout? Am I harming my fertility? Will I move into menopause before I’m ready?” OJAS was born from these questions—and the healing that began when I finally listened to my body.

About Me
I’m Maria—a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic counselor, and guide for women who feel like they’ve been doing everything “right,” but still feel off. For years, I lived in that space too—checking all the boxes, but quietly running on empty. What looked like a balanced lifestyle on the outside was masking deep fatigue, anxiety, and a hormonal system that was out of sync. My cycle became more painful, sleep was broken, and I felt more and more disconnected from my body.
Yoga was the first doorway back to myself—but it wasn’t enough on its own. I wanted to understand why I felt the way I did. That search led me to explore nervous system regulation, trauma-informed movement, somatic work, and eventually Ayurveda. Everything started to make sense. I wasn’t broken—I was depleted. What I needed wasn’t more discipline. I needed nourishment, softness, and deep reconnection. This work is personal because I’ve lived it. Every practice I offer is something that helped me rebuild from the inside out.
OJAS was born from that healing process. In Ayurveda, Ojas is the subtle essence that gives us vitality, clarity, and emotional resilience. It's not just energy—it’s our ability to meet life from a place of steadiness. I created this space because it’s what I needed when I was at my lowest: a space that’s honest, grounding, and deeply supportive of women’s health—especially when it comes to hormones, energy, and nervous system balance.
Today, I hold space for women navigating similar terrain—burnout, hormonal shifts, PMS, perimenopause, anxiety, fatigue. We work gently but powerfully—through movement, sound, breath, and Ayurvedic insight—to support your cycle, your energy, and your deep capacity for balance.
This isn’t about doing more. It’s about finally learning to trust your body again.

My Guiding Principles
Connection is Medicine
When we’re disconnected from ourselves, everything suffers—our health, our relationships, even the planet. But when we feel safe in our own body, we make different choices. We show up with more care, clarity, and compassion. Self-connection isn’t a luxury—it’s where real change begins.
Slowing Down to Listen
Most of us are moving too fast to hear what our bodies are really saying. When we slow down, we start to notice the signals—fatigue, tension, anxiety—not as problems, but as messages. This is where healing begins: not by doing more, but by finally listening.
Returning Home to Self
So many women are stuck trying to be everything for everyone. But the truth is—who you are underneath the stress and pressure is already enough. This work isn’t about becoming someone new. It’s about coming back to yourself.
